“Now Is the Time / The Time is Now” opened last week at 411 Gallery in Columbus, Indiana. I’ve been making works following the transition of seasons here on the hill since the winter, and it’s amazing to see it all come together in one space. I will be giving an artist talk on Thursday October 1, where I will also give a brief lumen printing demonstration.
I’m happy that my recent Lenscratch article has coincided with this show, and that I was able to discuss a lot of the ideas behind this work, despite it all being so new. Big thanks to Dawn Roe for this great back and forth conversation and all of her great insight. Given our long history going back to Asheville, she was able to make some great connections between my older chemigram works and this newer lumen-based work.
While I continue to document plant life for my “Hill Diary” series, I’m currently focused on a number of educational opportunities online at both Agora School of Experimentation and the Penumbra Foundation, and also in person at the Experimental Photo Kitchen. A list of these workshops and long-term classes are over at The Kitchen.
