Walkabout, 2007

Sometimes, no one can take the roadtrip with you. I decided I didn’t want that to stop me. So with no set plan in mind, I drove to Nova Scotia and back.

It became a return to hostels and farms, to museums, to bars, to beaches, to large cities and wilderness.

My only regret was passing the couple hitchhiking north of Halifax on July 17th. She was wearing red pants. They turned to watch me pass, out of all the cars on the road.

Otherwise, it was everything I both wanted and needed.
